Jake Paul issues update on Mike Tyson fight after heavyweight legend suffers 'medical emergency' on flight

Jake Paul has shared his thoughts on Mike Tyson suffering a ‘medical emergency’ on a flight just weeks before their fight.

Tyson had a scare on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles on Sunday as he required urgent medical attention.

The 57-year-old became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare and was treated on the plane.

His representatives state he’s now ‘doing great’ ahead of returning to action on July 20.

“Thankfully Mr. Tyson is doing great,” the boxer’s representatives said. “He became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare up 30 minutes before landing. He is appreciative to the medical staff that were there to help him.”

A source said: “Mike had some kind of medical emergency on the plane and paramedics boarded.

“Before the paramedics arrived the flight issued an announcement asking for a doctor – the message even came on everyone’s screens.”

Paul, who will welcome the boxing icon back to the ring this summer, has issued an update on the status of their upcoming pro bout.

On X, he wrote: “You love to make sh*t up before knowing the facts for clicks / likes. Nothing changed.”

An ex-world champion boxer is ‘on standby’ should Tyson be forced to pull out of the showdown.

The former world heavyweight champion, meanwhile, is set to be involved in his first pro content since June 2005 when he suffered a defeat to Ireland’s Kevin McBride.

But he returned to action in November 2020 as he faced fellow boxing legend Roy Jones Jr in an exhibition.

As for Paul, he last fought in March when he stopped Ryan Bourland in the very first round.

He’s 9-1 in his pro career and boasts wins over UFC legends Nate Diaz and Anderson Silva.
