It’s one thing for Caitlin Clark’s massive fanbase to show support by going to her games or hyping her up on social media. But the numbers show that there’s an incredible level of confidence that she’s going to be the WNBA’s best player as a rookie.

According to Barstool Gambling, the DraftKings Sportsbook has seen a whopping 80-percent of WNBA MVP bets placed on Clark to win the award this year.

While doing so would be a stunning feat, she wouldn’t be the first. WNBA legend Candace Parker pulled off the feat back in 2008, winning both the MVP and Rookie of the Year honors in her first year in the league.

Competition for Clark is going to be tough though. Between the Las Vegas Aces, New York Liberty and Phoenix Mercury alone there are plenty of perennial All-Star players who could vie for the award even as Clark is trying to get her feet under her in the WNBA.

The number of bets placed on Clark could indicate a general lack of knowledge about the other players in the league rather than confidence in Clark.

Though whether Clark wins the award or not, there’s little denying that she’s become one of the league’s most valuable PEOPLE for the incredible amount of added attention she’s bringing to the league this year.
