Caitlin Clark Responds to Claims She’s Only Popular Because She’s White

Clark

Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson recently made some wild claims about Caitlin Clark and following her WNBA debut, Clark responded to them.

Wilson didn’t hold back when speaking about race in the WNBA, as she claimed that Clark is only popular largely due to the fact that she is white.

“I think it’s a huge thing,” The 2023 WNBA Finals MVP said.

“I think a lot of people may say it’s not about black and white, but to me, it is. It really is because you can be top notch at what you are as a black woman, but yet maybe that’s something that people don’t want to see.”

Wilson continued, “They don’t see it as marketable, so it doesn’t matter how hard I work. It doesn’t matter what we all do as black women, we’re still going to be swept underneath the rug. That’s why it boils my blood when people say it’s not about race because it is.”

Ironically, Nike gave Wilson a signature shoe deal not long after she made those comments.

On Tuesday night after her official WNBA debut for the Indiana Fever, Clark was asked about Wilson’s comments.

“I think there’s opportunities for every single player in women’s basketball. I think the more opportunities we can give across the board, that’s what’s going to elevate women’s basketball,” Clark said.

“It doesn’t need to be one or two players, and I think that even goes back to college. I think we can … the parity in women’s basketball is what’s making more people want to come and watch it. I think the more you spread the love, show people, show their talents, show their teams, that’s just going to continue to elevate it. So, I think that’s the biggest thing.”

The Fever guard had a mixed night in her first WNBA game ever, after going 4-11 from three and breaking the record for the most turnovers ever (ten) in a WNBA debut.

She finished up with 20 points, three assists and two steals.

Draymond Green Roasted For Knicks Playoffs Take

Knicks Green Draymond

Draymond Green’s take on the Knicks’ playoff run being a ‘fluke’ is being roasted by a Knicks celebrity fan and a former NBA player.

Recently, Green said that Knicks fans were delusional for thinking their team is a legitimate championship contender.

NY had a 121-91 blowout Game 5 win over the Pacers on Tuesday and Knicks superfan and comedian Tracy Morgan had some words for Draymond as he appeared on Inside the NBA.

“Let me tell you something, Draymond,” Morgan told Green. “I love you like cooked food, I love you like the fat kid loves cake. Don’t talk crap about my team. This is New York City, this is the home of King Kong. This is where he died. The Warriors is from there, OK? This is how we get down. This is New York City. Period. Don’t talk crap about my team Draymond. I love you. Peace.”

Green explained his take on the Knicks and why he thinks it stills makes sense.

“Why do Knicks fans think I had the Knicks though? I told the truth about the team,” Green said. “And the truth about the team was, it’s a fluke … I said this team, they’re winning right now and I think it’s a setup like the Atlanta Hawks in 2021.

“And if you remember back to maybe 2016-2017 the Portland Trail Blazers paid all of those guys because they had that one good year and then they got jammed up. And I think this New York Knicks team could be a setup to get jammed up. And now everybody mad at me like I hate the Knicks.”

Separately, former Clippers star Lou Williams also called out Draymond for what he thinks to be a cold take.

“[Draymond] tripping. He tripping. I mean, you can’t call them a fluke,” Williams said on Run it Back. “If anything, they’ve been consistent. These guys have faced adversity. They’ve been consistent like I just mentioned. They haven’t made any excuses for themselves. They’ve dealt with injuries… And they just keep trucking on and they win big game after big game. All games they’re supposed to win, they’re there, and they’re winning in big-time fashion.”

Bronny James Says Fear of Heart Condition ‘Still Lingering’

Bronny

Bronny James’ entire future was put on hold nine months ago when he suffered a cardiac arrest and he’s spoken about the lingering fear of it happening again.

The 19-year-old is a long way from where he was last July and incredibly, played the majority of the season with the Trojans in his freshman year.

Speaking at his interview at the draft combine after being medically cleared by the NBA, the second youngest son of LeBron James told reporters his health problems are always at the back of his mind.

“It’s still lingering,” Bronny said. “My parents were a big factor of believing in me and giving me the love and affection that I needed at that time. I still think about everything that could happen but I just love the game so much it just overpowers everything.

“I was set back but that’s not an excuse. I’ve put in so many years of work and I don’t want anyone to think that because I had this issue that I’m lower than everyone else.”

After being in such a terrible situation, Bronny says the whole thing speaks to his level of perseverance in wanting to go pro.

“It was a tough time for sure but all this work I’ve put in, it’s just really built me into someone that will never give up and it paid off because I put the work into that situation and I’m back to where I want to be,” he said.

Of course, Bronny is different to everyone else at the combine because his dad is the NBA’s all-time greatest scorer.

But he made it clear that playing with LeBron isn’t his priority.

“No, never,” Bronny said when asked if his dream is to play in the league with his dad. “My dream has always just been to put my name out, make a name for myself, and get to the NBA, which is everyone’s end goal that’s here. I never thought about just playing with my dad, but of course, he’s brought it up a couple of times. But yeah, I don’t think about it much.”

The NBA prospect doesn’t think that an NBA team will draft him to get a chance at landing LeBron as well.

“Honestly, I feel like this is a serious business,” Bronny said. “I don’t think there would be a thought of, ‘I’m just drafting this kid because I’m going to get his dad.’ I don’t think a GM would really allow that. I think I’ve put in the work and if I get drafted it will be because of not only the player but also the person I am.”

What Is an Edge in NBA Betting?

An edge occurs when the Dimers.com prediction model projects the probability of an event to be higher than the best odds available with the U.S Sportsbooks. Essentially, it means that the Dimers/Basketball Forever NBA model projects that a bet has a better chance of cashing than the sportsbooks do. That’s why the higher the edge, the better for you.

Although an edge does not guarantee a win, consistently taking picks with a higher betting edge can increase your chances of being a profitable bettor in the long run. This is an essential aspect of successful sports betting.
