The Indiana Fever host the New York Liberty at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Thursday at 7 p.m. ET for their first regular-season home game of their 25th season. This marks the second consecutive year the Fever and Liberty meet for their second regular-season game.

They will face off four times this season, with their next matchup on Saturday at 1 p.m. ET at Barclays Center on ABC.

In the season opener against Connecticut Sun on Tuesday, Fever guard Caitlin Clark debuted with 20 points and three assists in over 32 minutes. Clark’s 20 points were the second-highest for a Fever rookie debut, only behind Tamika Catchings.

Liberty were unstoppable against the Fever

New York delivered an impressive performance in Indiana dominating all stat columns.

The Fever struggled from the star to get an offensive rhythm.

Caitlin Clark was unable to contribute offensively for her team. The rookie scored only 9 points, going 1-7 from the arc and 2-8 overall from the field.

Indiana will need to bounce back fast as they are scheduled to play against the Liberty again on Saturday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse Arena.

Sabrina Ionescu shows indifference to Caitlin Clark

New York Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu is not thinking about Caitlin Clark ahead of Thursday’s mouth-watering matchup in the WNBA. Clark had an up and down WNBA debut, leading the Indiana Fever in scoring but turning the ball over 10 times. The collegiate record-breaker will want to clean up her game ahead of her second outing, against the Liberty on Thursday.

Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston’s viral interaction after Clark’s miserable first half in WNBAParker Johnson. The Liberty defeated the Mystics in their opener, and they will look to make it two from two against the Fever on Thursday, though much of the talk surrounds the superstar contest between Clark and Ionescu.

But Ionescu is not buying into the noise surrounding the game, fully concentrating on coming out of the game with a win. “It’s another game for us, to be honest,” Ionescu said on Tuesday. “Like every single arena that we’re going into this year, and every single team that’s coming into ours is gonna be facing record-breaking crowds, and so it’s nothing really new to us.”

Where to watch Liberty – Fever on TV

The game will we broadcast at Prime Video, WWOR, and WTHR-13

Compartir en Twitter

Opening night wasn’t stellar for the Indiana Fever‘s second-year center, Aliyah Boston. She managed only four points and six rebounds in the loss to the Connecticut Sun. Boston aims to rebound on her home court against the New York Liberty, one of the WNBA‘s top teams. With many high scorers and an anticipated high-scoring game, Boston will have plenty of opportunities to improve her performance on the boards.

Last season, the 6-foot-5 South Carolina product averaged just six rebounds per game. However, she found her rhythm in the second half of the season, averaging 8.4 rebounds over the final 20 games of 2023.

With Caitlin Clark on the floor, the Fever are playing at a much faster pace compared to last season’s more deliberate approach, leading to more shot attempts. The Liberty, known for their fast tempo, finished second in field-goal attempts per game in 2023. This increased pace means more shots and more chances for rebounds.

Thank you for watching

Boston grabbed nine rebounds in two of her four matchups with New York last season. Projections for Boston tonight call for more than nine rebounds, with estimates slightly over 9.1. The WNBA prop odds have her total at 8.5, with some sportsbooks offering EVEN money on the Over.
