KIM Kardashian has confused many fans with her recent Met Gala look.

The reality TV star wore a simple gray cardigan over her designer gown and some fans thought it was a dig at Taylor Swift.

Kim, aged 43, graced the Met Gala on Monday clad in a bespoke silver Maison Margiela Couture gown.

The strapless gown was embellished with delicate leaf motifs.

However, what puzzled observers at the Met Gala was Kim’s decision to drape a gray cardigan over her ensemble throughout her walk on the carpet.

She casually wore it around her shoulders, clutching it in her hands, concealing the full extent of the cardigan from view.

Kim later disclosed to Vogue the rationale behind her choice of cover-up that evening.

She indicated that the cardigan was reminiscent of a “memorable night” she experienced in a garden with a former partner.

Given that the Met Gala’s theme for the year was Garden of Time, Kim opted to pay homage to this personal memory to align with the theme.

“It’s like reliving the most adventurous night of my life in a garden,” she remarked with a chuckle.

“And I just ran out and grabbed my boyfriend’s sweater and threw it on and had to get to work.”

“My hair’s all messed up,” Kim added.

Kim and Taylor have been in a years-long feud, after she and her ex-husband, Kanye West, recorded a phone call to Taylor in 2016.

However, some Taylor fans thought that Kim’s choice of cardigan looked oddly similar to one that the singer recently released in her merch store

‘FELT LIKE AN OLD CARDIGAN’

Following the release of her eighth studio album, Folklore, Taylor, aged 34, saw her merchandise team unveil a series of cardigans on her website.

This surge in cardigan offerings was spurred by the album’s lead single, aptly titled “Cardigan.”

The assortment of sweaters ranged from those featured in the music video to holiday collections and even editions tailored for her re-recorded albums.

When Taylor’s 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, debuted on April 19, her team introduced yet another cardigan, much to the delight of many fans.

This particular cardigan boasted a simple design—a pewter gray hue with brown buttons and a patch at the bottom featuring the album’s title.

Does this description ring a bell?

Indeed, it bears a striking resemblance to the sweater Kim wore at the Met Gala.

Taylor’s bitter feud with Kanye and Kim explained

Taylor Swift has been locked in a nasty feud with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian for years.

2009 – Kanye interrupted Taylor’s VMA win for Best Female Video onstage, saying, “I’m really happy for you and I’mma let you finish but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time.”
2009 – Later that month, Kanye admitted he regretted the action and Taylor confirmed that he rang to apologize.
2010 – Taylor performed Innocent, a song rumored to be about Kanye, at the VMAs, singing, “It’s all right / Just wait and see / Your string of lights is still bright to me / Who you are is not where you’ve been.”
2013 – Kanye took back his apology to the singer, insisting, “I do not have one regret.”
2015 – The former rivals reunited at the 2015 Grammy Awards and posed together for photos and Taylor later said she “likes him as a person.”
2016 – Kanye debuted his song, Famous, with the lyrics, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that b***h famous.”

2016 – After Taylor insisted she did not approve of the lyric, “I made that b***h famous,” Kim released video footage of her phone call with Kanye.
2017 – Taylor seemingly referenced their feud in her album, Reputation, teasing the news with videos of a serpent – a nod to the snake emojis posted in her Instagram comments implying she was a liar – and seemed to diss Kanye in her song, This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things.
2018 – Taylor said Kim had not released the full recording and asked, “Where is the video of Kanye telling me he was going to call me ‘that b***h’ in his song? It doesn’t exist because it never happened. You don’t get to control someone’s emotional response to being called ‘that b***h’ in front of the entire world.”
2019 – Kim insisted in a magazine interview that they had “squashed” their feud.
2019 – Taylor claimed Kanye’s Famous music video was “revenge porn” as it featured a fake naked sculpture of her.
2020 – The full phone call between Taylor and Kanye was leaked, in which there was no mention of her being called “that b***h.”
2020 – Kim initially said the call revealed “nothing new” and later backtracked and tweeted, “The only issue I ever had around the situation was that Taylor lied through her publicist who stated that ‘Kanye never called to ask for permission…’ They clearly spoke so I let you all see that. Nobody ever denied the word ‘b***h’ was used without her permission.”
2023 – Taylor said in a Time interview that the feud with Kim and Kanye felt like a “career death” and “took her down psychologically.”

THANK YOU AIMEE

While most of the songs on TTPD were rumored to be about Taylor’s ex-boyfriends – Joe Alwyn and Matty Healy – and current boyfriend Travis Kelce, there was one track that fans thought was about Kim.

After the album’s initial release, Taylor released 15 more songs to make TTPD: The Anthology.

On that second release, there was a song called thanK you aIMee.

The letters KIM were capitalized in the stylized song title, making fans believe that it was about Kim Kardashian.

Because of that dig, many fans thought that Kim was sending a message to Taylor, even though the singer wasn’t at the Met.

“It was really nice of Taylor to send Kim her very own thanK you aIMee TTPD cardigan!!” an X, formerly Twitter, user wrote.

“Looks like @Kim’s #TTPD #Cardigan fits short on her too @taylorswift13,” said another.

“So glad aimee got her TTPD cardigan in time for the met,” a third added.

TikTok users joined in on the joke as well.

“Kimberly, please let us know why you wore a cardigan. Assuming it’s because of Taylor Swift until further notice,” one said.

“This is how I know I’m too far gone as a Swiftie,” one fan said.

They went on to say that maybe Kim is trying to make amends with the subtle reference.
