Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever were tasked with a back-to-back, continuing through their grueling 2024 season schedule. They faced two physical teams in the Chicago Sky and New York Liberty. The Fever crawled out of the Sky game with a 71-70 victory, but the second night of the back-to-back wasn’t as successful.

Clark and the Fever suffered a 104-68 loss to the Liberty on Sunday. The rookie out of Iowa posted three points and five assists.

While some of the fanfare online is surrounding Clark’s poor play, most are questioning her late-game injury. Clark went to the locker room in the fourth quarter with an apparent ear injury, according to Scott Agness on X.

As Agness explained in his report, Sunday’s matchup was the Fever’s 11th game in 20 days. The injury could stem from fatigue, but a blow to the ear is a very odd injury to explain.

There has yet to be an update on the injury. It will likely be posted soon after Indiana’s press conference with head coach Christie Sides.
