Caitlin Clark 05242024

aitlin Clark is back in action on Friday and the Fever are still in pursuit of their first win of the season.

Indiana is off to a rough 0-5 start and Clark’s transition from college basketball to the WNBA hasn’t been as seamless as expected. The No. 1 overall pick is averaging an impressive 17.8 points, 5.8 assists and 4.6 rebounds per game, but she has been turnover-prone and inefficient.

Clark has 29 turnovers to 29 assists and is only shooting 40.3 percent from the field and 32.6 percent from 3.

She’s looking to bounce back against a 1-2 Los Angeles Sparks team that has No. 2 overall pick Cameron Brink anchoring its defense. Brink has been stellar on that end through her first three games, averaging 3.7 blocks and 1.3 steals.

The Spark’s offense is powered by two-time All-Star Dearica Hamby, who is on a tear with averages of 22.0 points and 13.7 rebounds per game so far.

Will Clark break out in Los Angeles and help the Fever pick up their first win of the season? The Sporting News has you covered with her stats and highlights from the game below.

Caitlin Clark highlights vs. Los Angeles Sparks

Clark is struggling to find her shot in the first half (2-7 FG) but she is making an impact elsewhere. Her six rebounds and four assists lead the Fever, and she only has one turnover.

She showed a burst of speed for a blow-by layup, just escaping Brink’s defensive presence at the rim.

She also had a dime in transition to set up Temi Fagbenle for an easy two.
